Northfield, OH — Jack Shearer’s Polo Jenn ($4.40), who shared local Horse of the Year honors at Northfield in 2007, found her way to the winner’s circle for the second time in three 2008 starts on Friday, May 23, taking the $6,500 Mares Winners Over Pace in 1:55.3.

Wyatt Irvine put the Jeff Cox trainee on the engine and she overcame a parked-out opening panel and a lengthy challenge from Getrichordietrying to post the victory. Summer Life N used a perfect two hole trip to finish second and Karrydale Charm flew from way back for show money.

The win was the third for Irvine in the first six races of the evening.

Polo Jenn is an 8-year-old Polo Player mare, who has now won 45 career races and banked $246,494.
