HARRINGTON, Del. – Harness the Power and Jonas White’s Ann Other Porsche sprung an upset at odds of 10-to-1 in Tuesday’s $15,000 Filly and Mare Open with a 1:54 triumph.

The 8-year-old Road Machine mare, driven by Brad Hanners, collared pacesetting Cams Little Imp N (Ross Wolfenden) up the backstretch and drew off in the stretch, holding off race favorite Crossfire N (Mike Cole).

It was the sixth win in 15 starts for “Porsche” and trainer Kevin Lare.

Driver Steve Warrington scored a consecutive double by winning with Jenny’s Picnic in the subfeatured third race, an $11,000 winners-over event for mares and Costly Legs in a $25,000 claimer.

Hanners won five races on the card, including one with his trainee Western Sam in the 10th race.

Adios Harry series gets underway Wednesday

Four divisions of the Adios Harry series will be contested on the Wednesday program at Harrington Raceway .

The series is named in honor of legendary Delaware-based pacer Adios Harry, who had an illustrious career in the 1960’s. It is for 3 and 4 year olds, and will have two legs and a $45,000 (est.) Final on May 11. The Adios Harry is part of three spring late closing events, the others, the Miss Harrington and Magician, get underway on Thursday.

Each division carries a $10,000 purse, scheduled sixth, eighth, 10 th and 12 th on the 15 race program.

In the first division, Ed and Jeff Wheatley’s Kitty’s Paddy (8/5, Dale Elliott) will bid for his first win of the year after competing in the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund, where he finished seventh in the $100,000 Final.

Marcia Murray’s JD’s Dragon (5/2, Wayne Truitt) heads a nine horse second division, fresh off a 1:52.1 win at Dover Downs. The third division is also a nine horse field with Phil Goldwater and James Faragher’s Macho Mike (2-1, Brad Hanners) going for his third straight win. The 4-year-old Magical Mike gelding had struggled recently at the Meadowlands before switching to the Goldwater barn. He carries a lifetime best of 1:50.4 at the Meadowlands last year at 3.

The fourth and final division appears to be the most competitive Carter Racing Stable and Bobby Myers’ Victor Vuitton (5/2, Bobby Myers) drawing the rail. Erika Paradee’s Supreme Dan (3-1, Mike Cole) had a five race win streak snapped last start, but will look to begin a new one from post two.

Also on the program is an $18,500 Preferred Trot with Harness the Power and Fred and Anita Fialkow’s Rattlensnake Jake (9/5, George Dennis) heading a field of six.
