All eight Breeders Crown finals for 2- and 3-year-olds of both sexes and gaits will be contested this Saturday night (Oct. 24) at Woodbine Racetrack.

Muscle Hill will face a field of nine other trotting hopefuls for a final time in the $600,000 Breeders Crown.

If there is a sure thing in horse racing, it’s Muscle Hill. The compact son of Muscles Yankee–Yankee Blondie could set a single season’s earnings record with a victory in the Breeders Crown, topping $2.4 million for the year. He hasn’t lost a race since July of 2008, weaving a 19-race win streak in the process, and is 11-11 this year.

Willing to take on Muscle Hill are Triumphant Caviar, recent winner of the Keystone Classic and Old Oaken Bucket, and Neighsay Hanover, who won the Bluegrass at Lexington and the Simcoe at Mohawk earlier this year. Neighsay Hanover has the next highest earnings in the field of ten, with $413,086 in 19 starts this year.

Here’s the field for the Breeders Crown 3-year-old colt trot final:

1. Muscle Hill, Brian Sears, Greg Peck, 1-5
2. Hot Shot Blue Chip, Mike Lachance, Jonas Czernyson, 25-1
3. Tom Cango, Tim Tetrick, Jim Campbell, 25-1
4. Striking Lindsey, TBA, Gregg McNair, 40-1
5. Neighsay Hanover, John Campbell, Trond Smedshammer, 20-1
6. Triumphant Caviar, Luc Ouellette, Chris Beaver, 25-1
7. Swan For All, Jody Jamieson, Erv Miller, 8-1
8. Howthehaloareyou, TBA, Anette Lorentzon, 20-1
9. PJ Clark, Andy Miller, Julie Miller, 20-1
10. Broadway Bistro, George Brennan, Jim Campbell, 20-1

Defending Breeders Crown champion Well Said, Cane Pace winner Vintage Master and Confederation Cup winner If I Can Dream are among the 10 finalists for the Breeders Crown for 3-year-old male pacers.

Jeff Snyder and Lothlorien’s Well Said has had very few flaws in a highly polished campaign that included wins in the North America Cup, Meadowlands Pace and Little Brown Jug. His record of 10 wins in 13 starts and $1,952,654 in earnings speaks for itself.

The remarkably consistent Vintage Master has started 19 times this year and missed a check just once — back in May — on his way to $1,285,311 in earnings for owners Brittany Farms and the Brian Monieson Revtrust.

Bulletproof Enterprises’ If I Can Dream has won half of his 18 sophomore starts, with earnings of $1,060,099 for trainer Tracy Brainard.

Here’s the field for the Breeders Crown 3-year-old colt pace final:

1. Keep It Real, Steve Condren, Joey Shea, 20-1
2. Mr Wiggles, Corey Callahan, Brenda Teague, 9-2
3. Vertical Horizon, Jim Morrill Jr., Tracy Brainard, 25-1
4. Dial Or Nodial, Brian Sears, Jim Campbell, 5-1
5. Annieswesterncard, Dave Palone, Joe Seekman, 25-1
6. If I Can Dream, Tim Tetrick, Tracy Brainard, 6-1

8. Bay Of Sharks, Mario Baillargeon, Ben Wallace, 10-1
9. Well Said, Ron Pierce, Steve Elliott, 8-5
10. Vintage Master, Daniel Dube, Jimmy Takter, 5-1

Connections of elimination winner Mr Wiggles selected post position.
