Prince Of Luck was a neck winner in the Preferred Pace.

The result of the $35,000 Preferred Pace was as easy as one through five. Prince Of Luck from post one pulled a 5-1 surprise as Ross Wolfenden picked up his fourth win of the night.

The 5-year-old Camluck gelding led a cavalry charge down the stretch to hold off Bullion Bill A and Eric Goodell zooming down the passing lane to score a 1:51.4 victory in the featured race. Quality Western led early for Tony Morgan and fought off the odds-on favorite Fake Denario N and Tim Tetrick after the half until the turn for home. Quality Western held on for third with Immortal Quest N, piloted by Eddie Davis, Jr., besting Fake Denario N for fourth as the select field of five starters finished in post parade order.

Art Director won the $32,500 Delaware Special for the second straight week. Rusty’s For Real, with Eddie Davis, Jr. driving, cut out the pace until halfway down the lane when Brian Sears shot Art Director along the passing lane to score a 1:52.1 victory, sending the Artiscape horse, owned by Kovach Stables, over the $600,000 mark in career earnings. Noble Tess closed strongly for Jim Morand to take second with Beware Beret and Eric Goodell the third place finisher.

Glass Pack, a recent six-figure purchase by Louis Schaefer and Peter Heffering, put in a stout performance to win the $26,000 Open Pace. The 3-year-old Cole Muffler gelding held off Dream Rocket, piloted by Tony Morgan, and third-place finisher Ross The Boss N and Roger Plante in the 1:52 mile.

Ross Wolfenden led all drivers with four wins. Tim Tetrick, Jim Morand and Brian Sears each had a double.

Ladyfield leads select field in $26,000 distaff Open Pace

Ladyfield is the one to beat in the $26,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap Pace on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Dover Downs. First post is 4:30 p.m.

Owned by the Keelers (Joyce, the mother; Kathleen, her daughter; and daughter-in-law Linda), Ladyfield, with meet leading driver Tony Morgan, scored a wire-to-wire 1:51.2 victory, equaling her lifetime record, set only last month. A 4-year-old by Armbro Cadet, Ladyfield has two wins and three seconds in her previous five races.

Martin Scharf’s Stonebridge Kisses has been the favorite in each of her last eight races, but could not make up any ground last week in a last half with :27.2 splits. Yada Yada Yada A appears back in top form with Ross Wolfenden. The 7-year-old, second last week, is owned by Ken Wood, Henry King, Steve Iaquinta and Bill Dittmar.

Newcomer Ron McLenaghan’s You’re Welcome leaves from the rail with Jim Morand, and Bill and Richard Fritts’ Fritzie Bunnie was third last time for Mike Cole. Kellytuck Sophie, owned by W.B. Roberts, Graham Grace and M&W Stables, will have the services of Jonathan Roberts.
