Racing postponed in Indianapolis

Indianapolis, IN — The Saturday (August 19) card of Grand Circuit racing at the Indiana State Fair has been postponed until Sunday due to poor track conditions.

Heavy rains on both Friday and in the early hours of Saturday morning left the track unraceable. The Grand Circuit card, originally scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. post time, was first delayed until 12:00 noon while the crew worked feverishly on the track. When it became apparent that the track would still not be ready by noon, the decision to postpone until Sunday was announced.

The full 12-race card, including two divisions in the $74,500 Fox Stake, is now scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
