Tetrick notched the fourth of his five wins by guiding I Ain’t No Fool to his third consecutive wire-to-wire win in the $26,000 Open Handicap Pace. A :27.4 final panel put away any thoughts of runners-up Haverford Hanover, handled by Ron Pierce, and Benns Shotgun with Tony Morgan, second and third, respectively. Tom Lazzaro and Harness The Power own the winner, a The Panderosa-Fool That I Am gelding who is trained by Kevin Lare. Battleshoe Victor trots to victory at Pompano

Pompano Beach, FL — Mother Nature wasn’t very kind in South Florida once again as the skies opened up with rain on Monday night at the Isle Pompano Park. But it didn’t stop Battleshoe Victor ($5.00) and driver Anthony Napolitano from being victorious in the $16,000 Open Trot on a ‘sloppy’ track.

Battleshoe Victor and driver Anthony Napolitano won the $16,000 Open Trot on a sloppy track.

Keystone Empire (Kevin Wallis) got the first call with Hellava Hush (Richard Simard) and Battleshoe Victor rushing off the gate, but Battleshoe Victor took full advantage of Hellava Hush going off stride to take over the lead.

Napolitano and Battleshoe Victor remained on top for the entire mile, clocking in fractions of :28.3, :58.3 and 1:27 to win by 2-1/2 lengths over Karpathos (Wally Hennessey) in 1:56.4, with Table Wine (Dan Clements) finishing third.

It was the second win of the year for the 7-year-old Valley Victor gelding, who now has earnings of more than $285,000 for trainer Tom Harmer and owner Michael Polansky.
