Still Electric plugs in feature win at Dover

Still Electric rolled to a 1:52.3 score in the Mares Open Handicap Pace.

In the $33,000 feature, Tetrick left with Still Electric from post eight and got to the lead after Chloes Silver Star took the select field of eight starters to the quarter. From in front of the grandstand until the finish line it was all Still Electric. The 1:52.3 mile was the fourth victory in five starts this year for the Mr Electric-Still Terrific 5-year-old, now owned by Howard Taylor, Jerry Silva and Tom Lazzaro. Chloes Silver Star held on for second for Eric Goodell with Pacific Philly and Eddie Davis, Jr. third.

Tetrick also drove Cantwell Bridge Stable’s Lockes Of Love home in 1:52.4 to win the $26,000 Mares Jr. Open. Roxie Lee N got up for second with Ross Wolfenden driving. Erma La Em and Ron Pierce took third.

Sfumato a head winner in Meadows series

Meadow Lands, PA — A head loser in the opening leg of the Opening Bell, Sfumato turned the tables on his rivals Tuesday at The Meadows, scoring by that same margin in a $12,000 division of the second leg.

Special Character and Monster Dragon took the other splits in the series for 3- and 4-year-old pacing colts and geldings.

Sfumato and Brett Miller worked out a perfect pocket trip behind West Side Dragon, then kicked by in the lane to triumph in 1:53, a career best. It was a tough defeat for West Side Dragon, who now has lost two series divisions by a nose and head. Omar Pheeny finished third.

Bill Kreutzer trains Sfumato, a 4-year-old gelded son of Real Artist-Silky Satin, and owns with Bill Wood.

Dave Palone drove four winners on the 14-race card.
