Harrington, DE — Harrington Raceway’s 61st year of live racing will resume with the commencement of its 2007 summer/fall meet on Sunday, August 12.

A stylish baseball-style hat sporting the new Harrington logo will be awarded to the first 400 patrons after 4:45 p.m. There will also be a variety of opening night promotions, including $1 hot dogs/sausages and a family fun day featuring a petting zoo, face painting and pony rides, all free for the family.

Live racing will be conducted on a Sunday through Thursday schedule, with a 5:30 p.m. post time. The summer/fall meeting will be headlined by the inaugural running of the $400,000 (est.) Bobby Quillen Memorial for free-for-all pacers on October 15 and 22. The race honors the former long-time Delaware legislator and raceway board member, who was a popular figure in the community who always supported the horsemen’s cause.

There will also be four $110,000 finals of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund for 2-year-old pacers on closing night, October 23.

Driver Tony Morgan maintains a 17-win lead in the driver standings over Tim Tetrick, while Josh Green sits atop the trainer standings, 10 wins better than Dylan Davis.

Opening night will feature a 15-race program, headlined by a $15,000 event for $25,000 claimers, featured sixth on the program.
