Red Cape tops Blooded Horse Spring Sale at $60,000

Delaware, OH — The Blooded Horse Spring Sale offered racing stables and farms an opportunity to purchase fresh stock with its 620 horse mixed catalogue.

Kensington Farms got the final bid on the broodmare Red Cape for $60,000. The Jate Lobell daughter of the great Anniecrombie had a Bettor’s Delight filly at her side and was back in foal to Bettor’s Delight.

Racehorses are always in demand as the warm weather inspires dreams of visiting the winner’s circle. Bidding was spirited for a pair of classy trotters that went to stables based at The Meadows. Lewis Hauber signed the ticket for the Pegasus Spur 4-year-old mare E Pegasus for $28,000, and Mickey Burke got the nod on the consistent Jailhouse Jesse gelding Sunset Gentelman for $27,000.

Gary Green purchased the upper class pacing mare Funtime Filly for $25,000. Ah Striking Stride, a 3-year-old Striking Sahbra gelding racing competitively at Northfield Park went to Canada on a $23,000 bid from Karol Kochany.

John Quimby plucked conditioned claimer Sadie’s Soloist from his Ohio connections for $17,000 to race out East. Green 3-year-old pacing fillies Helen’s Vision and Office Witch were purchased for $14,200 and $14,000, respectively, to race at The Meadows and Delaware.
