Lexington, KY — Next Adventure just nipped heavily-favored Soul Patrol at the wire to grab The Red Mile’s $6,000 Open Pace on Sunday night, August 26, in a lifetime best 1:52.1.

Mark Evers drives and trains Next Adventure, a 3-year-old Real Artist colt, for Velocity Standardbreds.

In the co-featured $6,000 Open Mare Pace, Artbitration won her 11th race of the year, this time in 1:53. Tom Kiosky owns and Norm Parker trains Artbitration, a 6-year-old Artiscape mare.

On the under card, the toteboard was kept alight all night with such big price winners as Just Oui ($70.20), Viking Mia ($57.00), Springtime Romeo ($51.80), Camelot Duke ($50.80) and Little TLC ($34.20).

Racing continues at The Red Mile on Monday night, August 27. Among the six Early Closer legs for 2-year-olds, keep an eye on Charismatic in the fourth race, who looks for his third consecutive lifetime win for co-owners Brittany Farms and Daisy Acres. Also, top older trotter Bacardi Lindy will start in the $6,000 Open Trot. Post time is 6:30 p.m.
