Rescheduled Lady Godiva Pace now set for Feb. 21

Monticello, NY — Monticello Raceway originally scheduled its fifth annual Lady Godiva Pace for Valentine’s Day, February 14, but a massive winter snowstorm forced the cancellation of that race card. Though the race card was scuttled, the track noted that the Lady Godiva Pace would be rescheduled for the following Wednesday.

“Now, after today’s (post position) draw, we are set once again to go with the Lady Godiva (Pace) on Wednesday, February 21,” said the track’s Director of Racing, Eric Warner.

“The same eight ladies who were to drive in the canceled event last week now have different mounts and different post positions, both drawn by lottery, and they’re ready and waiting to perform. If the weatherman is good to us next week we’ll again offer a race which features the talents of lady drivers.”

Besides their purse percentages, the winning driver will receive a big box of Godiva chocolates, while the other participants will each receive a small box of the Godiva chocolates.

The field, in post position order (with drivers), lines up as follows: Timarida A (#1-Jody Riedel); Deb’s Flying Prints (#2-Leah Vandervort); Fox Valley Wannabe (#3-Terry Donnelly); Wild Willy Magoo (#4-Stacy Chiodo); Bring The Pain (#5-Devan Miller); Washpa Admiral (#6-Betsy Phillips); Armbro Sussex (#7-Karyn Malinowsky); and Newtown Mystic (#8-Lisa Krom).

The rescheduled Lady Godiva Pace is slated as the third race on Monticello Raceway’s February 21st card. First post is at 12:40 p.m. and admission to the track is free.
