Rockome Vic coasts home unchallenged to claim his second successive victory at Pompano Park.

Driven from post two by George Napolitano, Jr., Rockome Vic settled contently in second place as an aggressively driven Karpathos (Dan Clements) rocketed off the gate to take the field through opening fractions of :28.3 and :59.1.

As the trotters marched down the backstretch, Rockome Vic vacated the pocket and quickly advanced on Karpathos, pulling within a half length of the leader through a three-quarter split in 1:28.1 before taking command of the race on the final turn.

Rockome Vic entered the stretch with a 1-3/4 length advantage, and proved much the best down the lane, sprinting away from his overmatched foes to prevail by 3-1/4 lengths at the wire.

Rockome Vic returned $4.80, $3.20, and $2.60 for the victory. Karpathos paid $3.60 and $2.60 for second, while Sweet Count (Bruce Ranger) brought in $3.40 for third.

Owned and trained by Todd Stone, Rockome Vic was claimed for $8,000 on January 12, and is now undefeated in two appearances for his new connections. The 7-year-old son of Valley Victor, out of the Back Fin mare Golden Missy, has prevailed in 12 of 81 career starts with lifetime earnings of $140,146.
