Samaryllis tries again in Miss Easy Series

by Steve Wolf, Director of Marketing, Pompano Park

Pompano Beach, FL — Samaryllis will attempt to make amends for her head loss last week as she has been tabbed as the 5-2 favorite on Wednesday in the fourth race $6,500 second round of the $40,000 Miss Easy Pacing Series at Pompano Park.

Samaryllis starts from post seven for driver Wally Hennessey, while last week’s winner, Sing Flying Monkey, goes for her third straight win and starts from post nine for trainer/driver Joe Pavia, Jr.

Recently purchased by owner/trainer Rod Lorenzo for the Miss Easy Pacing Series, Samaryllis nearly won her debut at Pompano Park last week in the opening round of the series. The four-year-old mare by Moonlight Sam was stung early trying for the lead, then pressured throughout most of the mile only to get nipped at the wire by the pocket-sitting Sing Flying Monkey in 1:564.

Sing Flying Monkey drew the far outside post nine and despite being on a two race winning streak, the four-year-old mare by Artsplace is the 9-2 fourth choice in the race.

Second choice at 7-2 odds is Bellas Bliss, who starts from the rail for owner/trainer/driver Michael McDonald. Having won two of her last three starts, Bellas Bliss was a game third last week in the Miss Easy, losing by just three-quarters of a length.

Newcomer Merry’s Magic makes her Pompano Park debut in the Miss Easy from post three for driver/trainer Peter Wrenn. The Michigan owned mare was a six time winner last year with a record of 1:564.
