Sears reaches 5,000 win milestone

DOVER, Del. —- Brian Sears became the 47th driver in North American harness racing history to reach the 5,000 win plateau when he piloted Juliana Swinford and Wendy Crissman’s Thomas Thomas along the passing lane to score a 1:53.3 victory in a $25,000 Claiming race at Dover Downs on Monday, March 7.

Brian Sears became the 49th driver in harness racing history to reach the 5,000 win plateau.

Earlier Sears opened the program reining Mike and Lisa Hill’s Cobbler Hanover to victory in 1:53.2 to win a $20,000 Delaware Claiming Allowance.

Sears, who competes regularly at the Meadowlands and Grand Circuit events, ranks seventh in North America with 96 winning races in 2005 earning nearly $1.6-million in purses for owners of horses he has driven.
