EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – February 4, 2004 – Driver Ron Pierce had to keep the peddle on the metal to get Shesaporsche home first in the second race, the first of five $12,500 first-round divisions of the Tender Loving Care Series at the Meadowlands.

Shesaporsche scored her 5th career win in a lifetime best of 1:56.

Sent off as the 2-5 favorite, Shesaporsche [$2.80, $2.20, $2.10] scored a three-quarters of a length victory over Enlightened One [$3.20, $2.80] in a lifetime best of 1:56 flat for the mile. It was a length and a quarter back to Armbro Bracken [$2.60] in third.

Shesaporsche got away slowly and was fourth over, in eighth-place, as the three-year-old fillies paced down the backside.

She moved three-wide on the turn for home and then swept four-wide to take the lead. Some taps from Pierce through the final sixteenth of the mile delivered the victory, her fifth in seven career starts.

The daughter of Western Hanover – Perfidia is a half-sister to $1.5 million earner Gothic Dream. A $52,000 Tattersalls yearling purchase, Shesaporsche has earned $47,193 for the Canamerica Capital Corporation of Milton, Ontario and E. Stephen Scarff of Bedford, Nova Scotia.

The three-week Tender Loving Care Series continues next week with the top 10 money earners advancing to the $70,000 estimated final on February 20.
