Shutter Boy flashes to third straight victory

Freehold, NJ — Shutter Boy did not disappoint and posed for his third straight win photo on Wednesday afternoon (August 29) at Freehold Raceway.

Trained and driven by George Dennis, Shutter Boy scored a 2-3/4 length victory over Built By Lindy (a son of Dream Vacation) in the first of two $20,250 New Jersey Sires Stakes for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings. It was three lengths back to Across The Seas (Muscles Yankee) in third. The mile was timed in 2:01.3.

Shutter Boy, who has so dominated that show wagering on the field of five for the third leg of the New Jersey Sires Stakes was canceled, paid $2.60 and $2.10.

The 2-year-old son of Yankee Glide–Miss Photogenic now has three wins, one second and one third in eight starts for earnings of $42,632. Delaware-based George Dennis and his wife, Tina, own Shutter Boy in partnership with the North State Street Stable of Dover, Del. He was a $25,000 Lexington Selected Sale purchase.

In the $20,750 second division, Wind Surfer (Muscles Yankee) scored a head victory over Better Than Most (Self Possessed) in 2:03.3. Sam Spade (Dream Vacation) was placed third.

Wind Surfer, trained and driven by Greg Peck, has two wins in his two career starts. The gelding races for Perretti Racing Stable LLC of Cream Ridge, N.J. and TLP Stable of Kearny N.J.

The $85,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes Final for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings will take place on September 5 at Freehold.
