Silver Springs scratched from Breeders Crown Mare Trot

Jorgen Jahre’s Silver Springs who drew post 8 in the was a vet scratch from the C$302,500 (US $250,000) Breeders Crown Mare Trot (carded as race 7, postime 9:26 p.m.) tonight at Mohawk Raceway. The 2003 Hambletonian Oaks winner had a qualifier at the Red Mile in Lexington on Aug. 20 in preparation for her Crown event but did not ship north as planned. Plans call for the the winner of $617,980 lifetime to be bred next year.
The C$2.2 million Open events are the marquee events on a card that includes several divisions of the Champlain Stakes and a free Breeders Crown cap to the first 5,000 racing customers.
