Sirius Radio Adds Harness Racing

Harness Racing Communications, a division of the USTA

Harness racing is the newest addition to the sports programming lineup at Sirius Satellite Radio.
Starting August 12, Sirius will air “Down The Stretch” every Saturday, starting at 10 AM, ET. The first 30 minutes of the two-hour show will be devoted exclusively to harness racing. Down The Stretch is hosted by Dave Johnson and Bill Finley and it can be heard on Sirius Channel 125. Guests on the first week’s show will include Sam McKee and Stan Bergstein.
“We believe we are giving harness racing what it deserves, a quality radio program available throughout the U.S. and Canada to Sirius subscribers,” said Ed Pappas, the show’s producer. “Sirius is a great network and the people there understand that harness racing has a large and very loyal following. We hope this is just the beginning. We are hoping to broadcast several major harness races live throughout the year. This should be a win-win for everyone–a quality show for harness fans and a chance for the sport to get exposed to millions of Sirius listeners.”
Sirius expects to have 6.3 million subscribers by the end of the year.
