Campbellville, ON — After a costly miscue in the $458,000 Merrie Annabelle on August 2, Snow White regained her winning form with a dominant 1:56.2 tally in the fastest of Monday night’s (September 3) four Champlain Stakes divisions for 2-year-old filly trotters at Mohawk Racetrack.

With regular pilot John Campbell in tow, the massive daughter of Self Possessed watched patiently throughout most of the first half as Flower Lane put up the opening half in :58.4. Snow White still had a length to make up at the third panel in 1:27.3 but easily made up that deficit over the final quarter to win going away.

The victory was the sixth in seven starts this season for the Kevin Lare trainee and boosted her seasonal bankroll to more than $250,000 for the North State Street Stable and Harness The Power, both of Delaware.

In the opening C$87,522 split, If And Only If scored impressively in her first start for trainer-driver Rick Zeron in 1:57.4. It was a new lifetime mark for the daughter of Like A Prayer, who has now won three of six starts this season for owner R Berthiaume Inc. of Montreal, Quebec.

Bella Dolce remained undefeated with an effortless-looking 1:57.4 score in the second division. Driver Paul MacDonell once again used first-over tactics with the daughter of Kadabra who wore down the front-enders and cruised to the easy victory.

The Richard Norman trainee is now four-for-four in her first season at the races and boasts nearly $160,000 in earnings for owner David McDuffee of Nashua, N.H.

In the third division, worth C$89,521, No Pain No Gain shot straight to the front from post one and wired the field for Luc Ouellette in 1:58.4.

It was the second win of the season for the Muscles Yankee filly who is trained by Jonas Czernyson for the White Creek Stable Inc. of Dublin, Ohio.
