Snowstorm captures third in a row at Buffalo

Hamburg, NY — Snowstorm, owned by Mark J. Jakubik and Ann Y. Rickert of New York and Pennsylvania, won Wednesday’s featured fourth race trot at Buffalo Raceway in 2:03.1 and paid $3.90 to win.

Driver Kevin Cummings put this six-year-old Sir Taurus gelding on the lead and he never looked back. It was his third win in a row, and boosted his yearly winnings to $6,950.

He set fractions of :30.4 to the quarter, 1:02.2 to the half, and 1:33 to the three-quarters. Finishing second was Taylor S Squire with Jimmy McNeight in the sulky, and Ante Kash with Mike Caprio up came in third.

In Wednesday’s third race, arguably the closest race on the card, Lastreos, trained and driven by John Mungillo, won a three horse photo and paid $14.80 for owner Frank Masella, Jr. of Lackawanna, New York.

It was Lastreos’ third win in five starts this year. Finishing second was Rawhide Hanover with Jimmy McNeight aboard, while driver Ron Beback, Jr. drove Rama’s Gangster to a third place finish.
