Southwind Tempo wires field in Golden Girls

Columbus, OH — Let It Ride Stables and Jerry Silva’s Southwind Tempo led every step of the mile in the $200,000 Golden Girls for pacing mares on Saturday (August 1) at The Meadowlands.

Southwind Tempo won the Golden Girls in a time of 1:50.1.
Leaving from post three in the field of seven, driver Tim Tetrick put the Ross Croghan trainee on the front end and she never looked back through fractions of :28, :55.2, 1:23.2 and 1:50.1.
Southwind Tempo was a narrow three-quarter length winner over Hana Hanover (George Brennan) with A And G’sconfusion (David Miller) third.
The victory was the sixth in 11 season’s starts for the 5-year-old Bettor’s Delight mare, lifting her season’s earnings to $670,179. She has now banked $1,959,331 lifetime.
