Spare Time Rozie, with Rick Zeron driving, equaled the Canadian record for older trotting mares with a 1:52.1 victory on Sunday night at Mohawk.

Driver/trainer Rick Zeron had the 4-year-old daughter of Earl away fourth as Railroad Ron (Paul MacDonell) was the first to the quarter in :26.3. Zeron would take the lead with Spare Time Rozie as the field approached the half, breaking the beam in :55.4.

From there, Spare Time Rozie took her six rivals to the three-quarters in 1:24.1 and then said good-bye to them as she opened up to win by 6-1/4 lengths in 1:52.1. Railroad Ron was next best and Pokeman Kid (Chris Christoforou) was over 10 lengths back in third.

The time tied Peaceful Way’s track and Canadian record which she took on July 2, 2005, in winning the $360,750 Armbro Flight Final.

Owned by John Cowan and Darryl Laver, Spare Time Rozie ($3.00) scored her third straight victory. She has won 10 of 22 this year while earning $142,292. Earlier in 2007, she swept the Lifetime Dream Trotting Series at Woodbine and won a leg of the Classic Series at Dover Downs.
