St Patty’s Love strong in Mass Sires

Plainville, MA — Alfred Ross’ St Patty’s Love scored her second consecutive victory in Bay State competition with an impressive 1:58.4 victory in a $5,777 Massachusetts Sires Stake 3-year-old filly pace on Tuesday afternoon (August 21) at Plainridge Racecourse.

Bred and owned by Alfred Ross of South Dartmouth, St Patty’s Love scored her third victory in 10 starts and second straight in Mass Sires Stake action. Trained and driven by George Ducharme, St Patty’s Love scored by 21 lengths. On Line Jogger was second while Ts Sassy Kasi was third.

In a $6,254 Mass Sires Stake for sophomore colts and geldings, Deborah and Gene Willis’ Sleeptheniteaway scored by 5-1/4 lengths over Mached Bills and Revenue Collector for trainer Jackie Rousse and driver Robert Leslie in 1:58.2.

Gary Hall drove the Stephen Hall owned, bred and trained Theredone to an 11 length win over Fuzzy Slippers and Diamonds R Forever in 2:03.1 in a $6,696 Mass Sires Stake for sophomore trotting fillies.

In the $7,150 Mass Sires Stake for trotting colts and geldings, RC Green Jeans edged stablemate RC Dignity by a quarter length while B J Randy was third. The top two finishers were both trained by George Ducharme for owners Michael White, Raymond Campbell, Jr., Jared Daley and Ann-Mari Daley. Ducharme drove RC Green Jeans while John Beckwith drove RC Dignity.

Mass Sires Stake action continues next Tuesday (August 28) at Plainridge with 2-year-old events.
