Monticello, NY — Jordan Stratton — remember the name. Before long, the 20-year-old will be known by all racing fans in the harness industry.

Currently racegoers at Monticello Raceway have witnessed the emergence of a rising star and it seems with every race day “The Kid” is getting more drives and winning with more regularity.

Spongbobsquarepans’ 1:57.1 victory was “The Kid’s” third win on the Tuesday card.

On Tuesday, August 21, Stratton reined four more winners after scoring a hat trick the previous afternoon. For the youngster, the four wins marked the first grand slam of his fledgling career.

Though the rain was falling intermittently on Tuesday, the racetrack, though sloppy, remained in good shape and winning horses posted decent final times.

Stratton began his assault with a romping 15 length, 1:57.4 victory with Luanne Kroninger and S & P Racing Stable’s Tatoo Hall ($2.60) in the fifth race on the 11-race card.

“The Kid” remained quiet until the eighth race and then unleashed three consecutive driving victories. He won the eighth race with Tina Adamczyk’s Fanci Buck ($11.60) in 1:58 and then reined Robert Bogigian’s Spongbobsquarepans ($4.10) to a come-from-behind triumph in 1:57.1, which marked the second consecutive winners over pace victory for the 5-year-old son of The Panderosa.

Stratton’s fourth winner on the card came in the 10th race behind Al Civarelli’s Shining Jesse ($12.00) in a 1:57.4 clocking.

With his four victories “The Kid” now has 95 at the current meet — sixth best — and 120 for the season.
