Freehold, NJ — Here is this week’s look back at some memorable moments in harness racing history:

January 8, 1993: Shady Daisy and Delinquent Account win divisions of the Cape & Cutter at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey.

January 9, 1988: Dragon’s Lair wins a leg of the Presidential Series in 1:53.4 and Nadia Lobell takes a leg of the Cape & Cutter in 1:55.4 at the Meadowlands.

January 10, 1998: David Miller wins nine races at Northfield Park in Ohio, equaling a record shared by three other drivers for most victories on a single card.

January 11, 1978: Rapid Canny, Royal Ricks Way, and James Gem finish in a triple dead heat for win at Bay Meadows near San Francisco.

January 12, 1994: Driver Wally Hennessey gets win no. 3,000 behind Streamlined at Pompano Park in Florida.

January 13, 1979: The Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey, sees its slowest race (2:12.4) and slowest card (average win time 2:09.3) ever. The track was sloppy for race one, and labeled slow for races two through 10. Murrays Worry and Jeremys Brigade tied for the fastest win time of the night, 2:07.2.

January 14, 2000: Camotion wins the Count B Pacing Series final in 1:54.3 at Mohawk Racetrack in Ontario.
