Freehold, NJ — A trio of $10,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes Green Acres races — two for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings and one for juvenile trotting fillies — were raced at Freehold Raceway on Tuesday.

In the first division for colts and geldings, Ray Schnittker, Earl Scheelar, Kelk’s Inc. and Jack Adkins’ Armbro Copenhagen strolled to a five and one-half length victory in 2:024 with Schnittker in the sulky. Franks ‘N Beans (Stephen Smith) finished second and Mr Universe (Jeff Gregory) checked in third, 12 lengths behind the winner.

Armbro Copenhagen, a son of Malabar Man who is trained by Paul Doherty, paid $3.60 to win as the odds-on choice.

Division two saw Jim Doherty, Thomas Dillon and Walter Hight’s Yankee Slugfest record a four and one-half length tally in 2:022 behind the handling of Jeff Gregory. The early pacesetter, Unique Physique (Cat Manzi), held for second. It was another length back to Sam McKee (Marcus Johansson) in third.

Yankee Slugfest, a Yankee Glide colt who is conditioned by Jim Doherty, returned $5.80 as the second choice in the wagering.

The fillies division was taken by Paul Kinnear and Douglas Hutchins’ Ticket To Glide in a 2:023 mile. The daughter of Yankee Glide finished a half length in front with Cat Manzi at the reins. Color Coded (Jeff Gregory) closed well to nail down the place spot and Teola (Perry Simser) finished third, one and one-half lengths off the pace.

Ticket To Glide, a Joe King-trainee, paid $3.20 as the heavy favorite.
