Med Vac (John Wagner) broke his own track record for 2-year-old trotting geldings with a 2:00.4 triumph.

Adam Victor and Son Stable’s Med Vac (John Wagner) broke his own track record for 2-year-old trotting geldings with a 2:00.4 triumph, in wire-to-wire fashion for trainer Noel Daley. He held off Maid To Command (Tim Curtin) and Command of Heart (Eddie Davis Jr.) in the stretch for a two length win.

KDK Standardbreds Valerin K (Kevin Switzer) shattered the mark for freshman pacing geldings with a 1:55.4 win. The Badlands Hanover gelding settled off the hot early pace which saw Beach Believer and What a Buster duke it out to a sizzling half-mile in 56.4 seconds. Switzer and Valerin K launched a rally on the backstretch and breezed by the leaders for a seven length win over Whatabuster and Pinehaven Lucky.

Milford Shaw’s Bayland Lady (Catello Manzi) scored a 1:58.1 win in the $100,000 pacing fillies final over Sailongtong and Born Storyteller (Jon Roberts). Bayland Lady, one of six Badlands Hanover fillies in the race, was trained by Jim King Jr. In the final for trotting fillies, Neil and Bette Bower’s J Bo (Greg Grismore) was victorious in 2:04. Trained by Brian Mackey, it was her third lifetime win.

Earlier on the card, driver Brad Hanners was presented with the trophy for leading driver, as he holds a commanding lead in the driver standings with 113 wins. It was his fourth consecutive driving title.

“I had a good meet,” Hanners said. “I drove a lot of good horses for a lot of good trainers and that makes all the difference.”

Following the seventh race, Elmer Fannin’s Make A Success was awarded horse of the meet honors from the United States Harness Writers Association’s Mid-Atlantic/Delaware Valley Chapter.

The 4-year-old Western Hanover gelding had four wins, set three track records and made more then $50,000 at the meet.

“He’s just a real nice horse,” said trainer Bob Stevenson. “He doesn’t know when to quit and he’s a real pleasure to have.”

“Success” won Monday’s $18,500 Open in a record 1:52.4, breaking his own mark for 4-year-old pacing geldings.

“We got him at Harrisburg,” said Fannin. “It’s worked out real well. I told Bob he needs to fill up the barns with more like him.”
