CAMPBELLVILLE, September 13, 2005 – Over C$3 million in total purses will be up for grabs Saturday evening at Mohawk, as a spectacular 13-race program has been drawn featuring the C$918,500 Maple Leaf Trot, C$1 million Metro Pace and the C$688,200 She’s A Great Lady.

The Score Television Network will air a special edition of Race Night on The Score coast-to-coast in Canada starting at 9:00 p.m. ET, running until 10:30, which will also feature special guest handicapper Bob ‘Hollywood’ Heyden of the Meadowlands.

The Maple Leaf Trot has been carded as race seven, at an estimated post time of 9:26. The She’s A Great Lady will be the evening’s eighth race (9:52) and the Metro Pace will be the ninth (10:16).

Consolations for the Metro and She’s A Great Lady have also been drawn. The C$50,000 She’s A Great Lady consolation will be the fourth race (8:19), while the C$100,000 Metro consolation will be the sixth dash (9:01).

Also, a pair of C$40,000 eliminations for the Canadian Trotting Classic will help fill the docket. The dashes have been slated as races three (7:58) and five (8:40) with the top five finishers from each elim gaining entrance to the $1 million final, scheduled for Saturday, September 24 at Mohawk.

A C$45,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace (Race 2, 7:39) and a C$50,000 Open Pace (Race 12, 11:26) are also on tap.

Saturday will also be Maple Leafs Alumni Night at Mohawk. Past Leafs Gary Leeman, Ric Nattress, Wilf Paiement, Mark LaForest and Bill Derlago will be on-track for an autograph session, starting at 6:30.

The highly anticipated 12-horse Maple Leaf Trot will feature sensational local mare Peaceful Way facing off against the boys, a group that includes the imposing Mr Muscleman, who will be in defense of his title.

Co-owned by conditioner Dave Tingley for his partners Angie Stiller, Goin My Way Stable, Marvin Katz, Al Libfield and Sam Goldband, Peaceful Way (PP2, Trevor Ritchie), a winner of 26 career races, has been stellar this season. Undefeated in seven starts this campaign and currently on a 10-race win streak, the four-year-old daughter of Angus Hall has earned $505,054 this year, has career purses in excess of $1.8 million and is a co-world record holder with a mark of 1:51.4.

If tackling the boys isn’t tough enough, the task gets even tougher for Peaceful Way with Mr Muscleman flexing his way into the fray.

Competing out of trainer Mike Vanderkemp’s barn for New York’s Adam Victor And Son Stable, five-year-old Mr Muscleman (PP9, Ron Pierce) has been overpowering in 2005, winning 11 of his 13 races and banking $978,450. Out of the 18 sub-1:52 trotting miles in history, Mr Muscleman has recorded four of them. The bay Muscles Yankee gelding has visited the winner’s circle 31 times in his career, banking over $2.8 million in purses.

Impressive elimination winners Jeremes Jet and Palone Ranger will face off in the rich Metro Pace for two-year-old pacers.

During his elimination, which was just his second career start, Jeremes Jet (PP2, Paul MacDonell) blazed the Mohawk seven-eighths of a mile oval in 1:52.3, a mark-lowering effort for trainer Tom Harmer. The Western Hanover colt is owned by Plainfield, Illinois’ Genesis Racing Stable and is a bay out of the Sportsmaster mare Ohyouprettything.

Palone Ranger (PP3, David Miller), who was also dominant in his elim, recorded a three-quarters of one length victory last weekend in 1:52 for conditioner Chris Ryder. A son of Western Ideal, Palone Ranger is owned by New Jersey residents Arthur Pronti and Patricia Bolte. Previous to his Metro elim, the bay notched a 2½-length tally in a division of the Champlain Stakes in 1:51.3.

The She’s A Great Lady also looks to be a contentious affair, as elim winners Style (PP5, Tony Kerwood), Little Miss K (PP4, Brian Sears) and Don’t You Smile (PP3, Jody Jamieson) will also hook up with fellow two-year-old pacing filly Keystone Dawn (PP6, Steve Condren) in the 10-horse field.

First race post time is 7:20.
