Delaware, OH — Unbeaten 2-year-old trotting filly Jesse’s Messenger and Ohio Hall of Famer Chip Noble shared honors during Monday’s (Sept. 21) racing program at the Delaware County Fair.

Jesse’s Messenger made it eight wins in a row with a 2:01.4, wire-to-wire triumph in the second division of the $57,634 Ohio Breeders Championship 2-year-old Filly Trot and Noble picked up his 93rd Delaware victory behind Call The Warden in the first division of the $64,034 OBC 2-year-old Colt Trot.

Jesse’s Messenger pushed her career earnings to $121,725 with a 1-1/4 length decision over Victory Is Coming and Lima Solo. The daughter of Jailhouse Jesse is owned by Daryl Sherman, trained by his son, Kent, and was driven by Ryan Stahl. The victory completed her Ohio Triple Crown campaign, as she captured the Ohio Sires Stakes championship two weeks ago and an Ohio State Fair stakes split in late July.

Stolen Crown, driven by Mark Headworth, won the first division of the OBC filly trot in 2:03.1 over Anastasia Whinnie and Photo Spur. Jim Mulinix trains the filly by Jailhouse Jesse for DM Stables and Denny Miller.

Noble’s 2:01 win with Call The Warden was the third OBC division in a row captured by sire Jailhouse Jesse. The victory was the colt’s fourth of the season. Call The Warden is trained by Jim Arledge, Jr. and owned by Laura Baker, James Morrow, Thomas York and Kathleen Morrow.

Bookem prevailed in a three-horse photo finish in the second division of the OBC 2-year-old Colt Trot in 2:01. Aaron Merriman guided the son of Ilooklikemymom to his seventh career win over the fast closing Rose Run Legend and Count Dracula.
