Toronto, ON — Driver Randy Waples and trainer Murray Brethour teamed up to take both C$20,000 divisions in Thursday’s first leg of the Miss Vera Bars Series for 3-year-old fillies at Woodbine Racetrack.

The pair clicked first with Artists Dynasty as the heavy favorite in the opening split. The daughter of Real Artist-Summerfield Hall took command from the outset and was never seriously challenged en route to a gate-to-wire tally in 1:57.3 over Life On The Links and Real Heart.

It was the second win in four tries this season for Artists Dynasty and increased her career earnings to $30,346 for Brethour who co-owns along with Donald Varcoe and Noblock Racing Stable.

Mylittlerebel won the fastest split of the Miss Vera Bars Series as she scored in 1:56.4.

Waples employed similar tactics in the second split, sending Mylittlerebel to the front from post three and the daughter of Camluck-Highland never looked back, winning wire-to-wire in 1:56.4. Chief Karen rallied sharply to pick up the place spot with C C Dreamer landing the show check.

The lifetime best clocking was the first win in three starts this season for Mylittlerebel, who is owned by Stephen Scarff and the Turnkey Stables. The win boosted her bankroll to $21,588.

The Miss Vera Bars Series will continue next Thursday night (Feb. 5) at Woodbine.
