Warrawee Koine extended her win streak to three in the second leg of the Silver Reign Pacing Series.

Mike Saftic positioned the black Astreos filly, who went off at 1-2 odds, comfortably behind early pace-setter Lil Miss Nyalation (Scott Coulter), who set fractions of :27.1 and :56.1. Just past the half-mile marker, Saftic pulled Warrawee Koine from the pocket and set her in motion to seize the lead.

From there, the filly said, ‘Catch me if you can’ and opened up a solid two length lead as the field entered the stretch. Murray Brethour trainee Mylittlerebel (Randy Waples) came after her in the final quarter but ended up 2-1/4 lengths short for second. Third went to longshot Run To Vegas (Jason Brewer), who made a massive move up from the back of the field.

Warrawee Koine shaved another 1-3/5 seconds off her best clocking with the 1:53 win. She is a homebred, trained by Gregg McNair for Dr. Mike Wilson of Warrawee Farm in Rockwood, Ontario. She has now amassed a bankroll of $22,400 in three lifetime starts.

The C$49,000 (est.) final of the Silver Reign Pacing Series, for 3-year-old fillies, goes Monday, March 23, at Woodbine.
