Toronto, ON — Even if she hadn’t gone to the gate at odds of 1-2, there would have been little question who was the filly to beat in the C$45,800 final of the Silver Reign Pacing Series.

Warrawee Koine ran her winning streak to four in the Silver Reign final.

Warrawee Koine, a strapping black filly sent out by Warrawee Farm in Rockwood, Ontario, has been utterly dominant in this series, and she didn’t disappoint on Monday night (March 23) at Woodbine, showing her heels to a field of nine other sophomore lasses as she completed the series sweep with a 2-1/4 length victory.

Mike Saftic sent the daughter of Astreos smartly to the front from post position nine, and she tossed off fractions of :26.4, :56.4, and 1:25.1 with longshot Brittle Truth (Mark MacDonald) pocket-sitting and Have A Cigar (Jody Jamieson) drafting in third.

In the final eighth of a mile, Warrawee Koine was put to pressure by Brittle Truth, but Saftic asked for more and the filly responded by leaving her rivals far behind, crossing the wire all alone in 1:53. Chief Karen (Rick Zeron) made a late rush from the backfield to take second, and Mylittlerebel (Randy Waples) made a similar move to grab the show money. Brittle Truth hung on for fourth.

Warrawee Koine, who is conditioned by Gregg McNair, is now unbeaten in four starts and has earned $40,949 for Dr. Michael Wilson and Warrawee Farm.
