Warrawee Needy scored in 1:51.4, the fastest mile in 2011 for a freshman pacer.

In the second elimination, 1/9 favorite Warrawee Needy and Jody Jamieson captured a convincing win for his connections. Owned by Thomas Kyron, Carl Jamieson, Floyd Marshall and Dr. Mike Wilson, the son of E Dee’s Cam-Great Memories sat comfortably in the pocket before scoring an open length victory.

Machal Angelo and J.R. Plante used post one to their advantage as they took command going into the first turn to lead past the opening quarter in :27. Warrawee Needy was in the pocket, ahead of a parked out Deo El Grande (Mark Gingrich.

As the field passed the half in :56.1, Orse Power (Mario Baillargeon) began the first-over attack and cleared past Machal Angelo going into the final turn. When Orse Power took over command, Jamieson guided Warrawee Needy off the rail and the pair were strides apart past three-quarters in 1:24.1.

Turning for home, Warrawee Needy gave Jamieson a new gear and the two-time winner exploded past his rivals under a comfortable hand-drive to win.

The winner of C$28,500 will begin from post four in the C$130,000 final.

Jake Sully and Aaron Byron captured the other elimination in 1:53.3. The pair converted off of a perfect, pocket trip to score in the first elimination for trainer Symon Pryjma.

From the start, Astor (Mike Saftic) left the gate from post one and quickly established command with Jake Sully tracking him from post two, past the opening quarter in a quick :26.1. The field would remain in order heading past the half in :56.1.

As the field marched into the final turn, Warrawee Nonsuch and driver Jody Jamieson began the first over attack and was matching strides with the tempo-setter, Astor, at the three-quarters in 1:25.

After the speedy fractions, Byron was able to angle Jake Sully off the rail and the son of Grinfromeartoear-Orillia Sadie propelled to a one length score over Astor with Secretsoftheknight completing the triactor.

Owned and bred by Mike Timpano, Jake Sully celebrated his first career win as he lifted his freshman earnings to C$24,250. He paid $24.50 for the victory.

The field for the OSS Gold final will line up as follows: 1. Orse Power, 2. Caddy Jeff, 3. Thunder Steeler, 4. Warrawee Needy, 5. Machal Angelo, 6. Astor, 7. Secretsoftheknight, 8. Boysgotfever, 9. Jake Sully and 10. Daniel Semalu. AE: Avanza.
