Northfield, OH — Northfield Park hosts the $1 million Ohio Super Night on Saturday, September 1, and no fewer than half of the morning line favorites have drawn the coveted inside post position.

Both $100,000 2-year-old filly races have favorites leaving from post one. Norma’s Rose is a 5-2 choice in the Ohio Sires Stakes trot final. Northfield’s leading pilot, Aaron Merriman is in her sulky.

In the $100,000 2-year-old filly pace Ohio Sires Stakes Final, Cruzin Inya Jammys is a 5-2 choice from the rail, despite being scratched sick from the final preliminary leg last week. Kyle Ater will pilot the daughter of Yankee Cruiser.

Osborne’s Gypsy, last year’s 2-year-old filly pace champ, was listed at 8-5 by Director of Racing Gregg Keidel in her $100,000 championship. From the inside post, she appears so dominant that there will be no show wagering on the race. Ryan Stahl drives Osborne’s Gypsy for trainer Eric Hamlet and Northfield Wall of Fame owner Jerry Osborne.

The most prohibitive favorite of all is KF St Patrick in the $100,000 3-year-old colt pace championship. With a 6-5 morning line, Vice President of Racing and Simulcasting Dave Bianconi made the call to banish show wagering on that race, as well. KF St Patrick, owned by trainer Mike Medors and Hank Kauffman, is 17 of 21 in his career with his only losses coming in last year’s Ohio Sires championship, against open stakes company in the North America Cup and Cleveland Classic, and in a Preferred Handicap event at The Meadows. He won all five preliminary Sires legs for the second consecutive year.

The other top picks include 2-1 B V’s Sister in the sophomore filly trot championship; Rose Run Jeriah in the 2-year-old colt trot final; divisional track record holder Hello Yankie in the the 2-year-old colt pace title race; and Heza Challenger in the wide-open $100,000 Ohio Sires Final for 3-year-old trotting colts.

The 14-race Northfield Park Super Night card kicks off at 7:00 p.m. (EDT), featuring eight $100,000 Ohio Sires Stakes finals and the $200,000 Scarlet and Gray Stakes for veteran pacers and trotters, split into mare and horse divisions.
