DOVER, DE – Wrangler Sam scored an impressive 1:53 victory in the $20,000 feature on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Dover Downs. Tim Tetrick and George Dennis each drove four winners.

Tim Tetrick took Virginia Louthan’s Wrangler Sam to the outside on the backstretch and then matched front-pacing Scootin Scholar and Brandon Givens step for step to the three-quarters, around the final turn and to the top of the lane before pulling off for a decisive victory, his second in a row in the $20,000 Delaware pace. Sold Hanover closed for Wayne Truitt to finish second with Spicy Sport and Ross Wolfenden the show horse.

Arty Foster’s Streetcar and Elmer Fannin’s Philosopher King finished in a 1:55 dead heat for win in the $15,000 Delaware Male pace. Tony Morgan cut out the mile with Streetcar while George Dennis closed along the passing lane to just get up at the wire and the photo finish camera could not separate them. Diamond Revenge (Corey Callahan) came on for third.

George Dennis used the passing lane to hustle Elmer Fannin’s 19-1 shot CR Shanghai to a 1:54.2 victory in a $14,500 3-4-&5-Year-Old Male pace. Mossdale Gambit N (Roger Plante) shook off several challenges until the final strides and finished second ending a two-race win streak. JF Dreamwork (Brad Hanners) was a fast closing third.

Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday is a dark day for live racing at Dover Downs. Saturday and Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m.
