FREEHOLD, NJ – – David Clogg and Dennis Mather’s Wrist Rocket left alertly from post one and led throughout in the featured $15,000 Open handicap for pacers at Freehold Raceway on Saturday.

Driven by Hall of Famer Cat Manzi, the nine-year-old Ideal Society gelding set torrid fractions of 27.2, 55.4, 1:24.2 and crossed the wire one and one-half lengths in front in a final time of 1:52.4. A late-arriving How Forever Feels (Ruel Goodblood, Jr.) finished second, and it was another length back to Matt Hershey (Yannick Gingras) in third.

In capturing the Freehold main event, Wrist Rocket notched his third victory in seven starts this year. The Ron Coyne, Jr. trainee closed as the 5-2 second choice in the wagering and returned a win mutuel of $7.60.
