Yonkers cancels Saturday program

YONKERS, NY – Due to a malfunction with the track lighting, Yonkers Raceway was forced to cancel Saturday’s scheduled 10-race harness program.
A number of banks of lights encircling the half-mile oval were unable to be turned on, the result of a computer glitch.
Management waited approximately one hour after the scheduled 7:40 PM first post before making the decision. Citing horse and driver safety, racing with limited lightning was never a consideration.
Live racing is scheduled to resume with a 10-race Sunday program, first post at 5:00 PM sharp.
