Yonkers, NY — With about a month before show time, the field for Yonkers International Trot, round two, is coming into focus.

Sweden’s On Track Piraten has accepted an invite to race in October’s International Trot at Yonkers.

Two returnees have been confirmed for Yonkers Raceway’s million-dollar-event, set for Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15.

Sweden’s On Track Piraten and Italy’s Oasis Bi are the first pair to accept invitations. On Track Piraten wound up seventh after taking a lot of air in the 2015 International, while Oasis Bi was a closing fourth starting from the second tier.

With several ‘auditions’ taking place at various venues this weekend, more Yonkers International Trot invitees/acceptances shall be announced soon.

As reported earlier, last season’s International Trot winner, Norway’s Papagayo E, is sidelined by injury and thus unable to defend his title.

“All of us are looking forward to this race, and we have been working very hard to assemble another world-class field,” racing secretary Steve Starr said.
