Campbellville, ON — The Rick Zeron trainee Lady Rainbow has had a rocky road leading up to her $25,000 Breeders Crown elimination this Friday (Oct. 1) at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes Barre, Pa.

The 2-year-old daughter of Muscles Yankee-Sunshinenlollipops made a break in stride in her Peaceful Way Stakes elimination on Sept. 9 but was able to finish fourth in the event and was then placed third to advance to the $452,020 final.

Again, the following week in the lucrative final, Lady Rainbow made a costly break in stride early in the mile but Zeron was able to re-collect the filly and finish a very respectable third, earning herself $54,242 in the event.

A $40,000 buy back as a yearling, Lady Rainbow will be making just her fifth career start for her connections and Zeron stated that Lady Rainbow is ready.

Lady Rainbow has banked $88,446 in just four trips behind the gate.

“I sent one of my men with her to Pocono (Downs). She didn’t really eat all that well Tuesday night but she cleaned out the feed tub on Wednesday and she feels real good. We trained her a little bit and my man informed me today (Thursday) that she’s on her game,” Zeron told WEG’s media department.

“She’s a very versatile filly and she’s very happy and doesn’t have a bad attitude. She enjoys her work and I’d imagine when she goes behind the gate (Friday) night that she’s all horse.”

Lady Rainbow has freshman earnings of $88,446 for Zeron along with co-owners The Camel Club Stable, Rojan Stables and Herbert Chambers.

Lady Rainbow has been assigned post two in the third race Friday night with an approximate post time scheduled for 7:04 p.m. She has been installed with morning line odds of 9-2.
