2020 Breeders Crown connections supporting Standardbred aftercare

Lexington, KY — Prominent owners, trainers and drivers are once again stepping up to support New Vocations’ annual Breeders Crown Pledge to support Standardbred aftercare.

This long-running event has become a major fundraiser to support Standardbreds leaving the track and heading to New Vocations.

“The need for our services continues to grow each year,” said Winnie Morgan Nemeth, Standardbred Program Director for New Vocations. “This year, in particular, has been very challenging for every part of the racing industry due to COVID-19. The response to the pledge has been great. We are on track to have a record number of Standardbred adoptions this year and are so grateful for the contributions of our donors who have continued to support and value our program.”

New Vocations is a 501(c)(3) charity that focuses on rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming retired racehorses. In 2019 New Vocations placed more than 400 racehorses in homes for second careers.

Connections can still pledge to donate a small percentage of their horses’ earnings in the upcoming Breeders Crown. To pledge or for more information about donating a horse leaving the track, contact Winnie Morgan Nemeth at 734.320.7918 or winnie@horseadoption.com or visit us online and pledge at newvocations.org/donate.
