Former USTA director Gerald ‘Jerry’ Schweibel, 93, dies
Gerald “Jerry” Schweibel, 93, of Tenafly, NJ, formerly of Williamsville, NY, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association Board of Directors representing District 4 for 13 years starting in 1992.

USTA adds ACH online and Discover card to payment options starting Oct. 1
In an effort to enhance the services provided to the harness racing industry, the U.S. Trotting Association announced Tuesday (Sept. 1) that starting on Oct. 1 free online ACH payments will be available and Discover card has been added as a new payment option. In addition, the USTA will be updating their payment processing procedures to include a 3% processing fee for all credit or debit card transactions.
OHHA to livestream races from 19 fairs in September
The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association (OHHA) will showcase 37 race cards via livestreaming from 19 Ohio county and independent fairs during the month of September.
