Milton, ON — As 2019 winds down, Standardbred owners are looking forward to the start of the 2020 breeding season and the arrival of several new stallions to the Ontario program.

To participate in the 2020 Standardbred Improvement Program as an Ontario sire, stallions must be registered with the program. Complete details about stallion eligibility, deadlines, fees and the registration process are available at 2020 Standardbred Stallion Conditions.

Applications for registration as a 2020 Ontario sire, along with all required fees, must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2020. The registration form is available at 2020 Standardbred Stallion Registration Form.

Those applications received after the deadline will be subject to payment of a late fee. Stallions are ineligible for registration as a 2020 Ontario sire if they breed any mares in 2020 prior to the approval of their application.

A list of registered Ontario sires for the 2020 breeding season will be published as soon as possible after the Jan. 15 deadline. Late registrants will be added to the list as they are approved.
