Berlin-Naples return in one day paid off

The German owner Roger Wittman paid around $50,000 to have his filly, Cindy Truppo, flown by air from Berlin, Germany to Naples, Italy to race in the richest trotting race for 2-year-old trotters, The Gran Premio Mipaaf Filly division, worth $110,000 to the winner Saturday afternoon (Nov. 28).

That gamble paid off.

Cindy Truppo, with trainer/driver Thorsten Tietz, easily won the 1-5/16th mile event in 2:01.2f.

Cindy Truppo (sired by Maharajah), who was a $32,000 yearling last year, has now raced four times. In her last race in Germany, she won at the Bahrenfeld track in Hamburg in a track record 1:57.4f.

The colt division was won by French owned Callmethebreeze (sired by Trixton) with trainer/driver Alessandro Gocciadoro. Callmethebreeze was timed in 2:00.4f and also picked up a check for $110,000.
