Bilibili favored in world’s richest under saddle race

Vincennes, FR — The French under saddle-race, the Grand Prix de Cornulier is the main event at Vincennes Sunday afternoon (Jan. 19).

The total purse is $650,000 Euro or $720,000 with the purse for the winner of $292,500 Euro ($325,000).

The 9-year-old trotter, Bilibili with Alexandre Abrivard in the saddle is the favorite.

Bilibili won the race last year in a new race record of 1.54.3 (mile rate).

16 trotters have been entered in the race – no less than 10 of them are mare.

If a mare should win the race this year, it could be 5- year-old Fleche Bourbon with Yoann Lebourgeois in the saddle.

Within the last six years, the race has been won by mares no less the four times!

The distance in the Grand Prix de Cornulier is the same as in the Grand Prix d’Amerique – 2700 meters or 1-11/16 mile.
