Breeders Crown draws 156 entries for Pocono championships

Cranbury, NJ — The cream of the 2013 crop jammed the Pocono entry box this morning with 156 trotters and pacers creating Breeders Crown eliminations on Friday (Oct. 11) and Saturday (Oct. 12) for all but two divisions.
The $5.6 million Breeders Crown finals will be conducted on Saturday (Oct. 19) at the Wilkes-Barre, Pa., five-eighths-mile oval with a special 5 p.m. (EDT) post time.
The $500,000 sophomore filly pace and the $600,000 Breeders Crown Trot drew just nine entries — as many as can fit on the gate at Pocono and will go straight to the finals on Oct. 19.
Those entered in the 3-year-old filly pace, in alphabetical order, are Aunt Caroline, Authorize, Carol’s Desire, I Luv The Nightlife, Love Canal, Mattie Terror Girl, Parlee Beach, Shebestingin and Somwherovrarainbow.
The nine trotters vying for Crown honors in alphabetical order are Arch Madness, Guccio, Intimidate, Market Share, Mister Herbie, My MVP, Sevruga, Uncle Peter and Wishing Stone.
Complete elimination and final fields will be available when byes and elimination draws are finalized. The Breeders Crown 3-year-old colt pace and one additional race will be drawn at the press conference at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in the Seasons Ballroom on Wednesday (Oct. 16).

Bee A Magician, Captaintreacherous and I Luv The Nitelife, who have combined to win 35 of 37 races and $3.67 million this year, lead the list of 156 horses entered Tuesday for the 12 Breeders Crown events at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
