Buckeye Stallion Series sophomore colts to Miami Valley Saturday

Grove City, OH — The first leg of the 3-year-old colts in the Buckeye Stallion Series will race Saturday (May 4) at Miami Valley Raceway with nine races, 35 trotters (races one, seven, nine and 13) and 46 pacers (races two, four, six, eight and 14).

Race one will see the return of Sv Payton Place (Wishing Stone-Miss Payton). He won his divisions in the second and third legs of the series in 2018. This will be his second start back in 2019. Also returning with his first start of the year is State Ofmyhead As (Broadway Hall-Yankee Jeanie) who won his division in the first and fourth legs in 2018. Bosley (Manofmanymissions-Nettie), Buba Can Dance (Uncle Peter-Dance Girl Dance) and Hard Rockin Hound (Hard Rock N Roll-Odessa Hall) have all raced in 2019 and Buba Can Dance won his last start April 17 at the Meadows.

Homer Hall (Broadway Hall-Cynthia Illiad) will race his fourth 2019 start in race seven. In 2018, he won his division in two legs of the Ohio Sire Stakes along with four Ohio Fair Stake wins and won his Ohio State Fair race. Buckeyeonbroadway (Dejarmbro-Dream On Broadway) and Stars An Stones (Wishing Stone-A Star For Sidney) both have 2018 Buckeye Stallion Series wins. Buckeyeonbroadway won his division in the first two legs and won the final. Stars An Stones won his division in the third leg and finished his season winning the Ohio Fair championship.

Dynamic Ridge (Uncle Peter-Frannie’s Ridge) is heading to race nine, looking to make his third win in a row. He won his last two starts at Northfield Park on April 17 and 24. Bat Chip Crazy (Manofmanymissions-Allthatnbagofchips) is looking for another good season after placing in the top three for 18 of his 23 starts last year and winning 10 Ohio Fair Stake races.

The final race for the trotters will be race 13. Frontloader (Uncle Peter-DJ Babe) returns to the series after winning his division in the fourth leg at Delaware in September, as well as three Ohio Fair Stake wins. Another Uncle Peter colt and new to the series is Twin B (Uncle Peter-Affair Hall). He has four starts and a win on April 23 at Hoosier Park. This is his first year of racing. Two others in this race with 2019 starts and one win in April include Timon As (Lionhunter-Pandora) and Hate The Rules (And Away We Go-Easter El Paso).

Cortex (Western Vintage-Yankee Celebration), Odds On Ohio (Dragon Again-Three Kilo), Big Pocket Teen (Mister Big-Beautinaful) and Mcair (McArdle-Air Guitar Hanover) all have a recent win in April and will be competing in race two, the first colt pace race. This is Cortex’s first year of racing.

Race four will see the return of Unlikeanyother (Pet Rock-Scootin Mercedes) to the series after his 2018 divisional wins in the second and third leg. Two McArdle colts, Prince Sawyer (McArdle-Liscaramore) and Shamma Lamma (McArdle-Shabalabadingdong) have wins last month. New to the series is Velocity Komodo (Dragon Again-Mississippi River) who is making his second 2019 start.

Race six will see some first-year starters. Big Bad Monster (Big Bad TJ-Towner’s Great Lady) has seven starts this season and took his first win March 17 at Miami Valley Gaming. B Like Cruiser (Yankee Cruiser-B Mobile) and Geologist (Pet Rock-Robin’s Girl) are also both in their first season and this will be Geologist’s first start.

Spoiled Rockn (Pet Rock-It’sgoodtobealive) is in his first year of racing and race eight will be his third start. Dl’s Big Elvis (Mister Big-Up Front Darlin) has eight starts with two wins this year, both at Miami Valley Gaming. Rockette Baby (Big Bad John-O Narutac Rockette) and Yankee Boots (Yankee Cruiser-Boots N Saddle) are both Buckeye Stallion Series veterans. Rockette Baby won his division in the fourth leg last year and Yankee Boots took wins in the first three legs and won the final.

Race 14 will wrap up leg one for the 3-year-old colts. Three first-year starters are in this race, Diesel Accelerator (Big Bad John-So Very Nice), Top Recruit (Dragon Again-Resilient) and East Beach (Beachtrea-All East). This is East Beach’s first start. Rock N Randy (Pet Rock-Medoland Riley) has a win at Miami Valley Gaming on April 20. Sectionline Bogo (McArdle-Armbro), Buckeye Boy (Big Bad John-Bye Bye Peachie Pie) and R J Jetpac (Western Vintage-Brokenstar) each won their last start at Miami Valley Gaming.

The series will continue with the second leg for the 3-year-old fillies at Eldorado Scioto Downs June 7 (trot) and at MGM Northfield Park on June 15 (pace). The 3-year-old colts will race at Eldorado Scioto Downs on June 21 (trot) and June 28 (pace).
