Calling all New Hampshire horsemen

by Bill Ellis, for the Western New England Harness Horsemen’s Association

Hinsdale, NH — The Western New England Harness Horsemen’s Association is reaching out to anybody that has a vested interest in the future of harness racing in New Hampshire.

They are seeking owners, trainers, drivers and others who would like to see live racing return to Rockingham Park. This grass roots effort is being established to educate the lawmakers and people of the Granite State on the benefits of open lands and the positive economic impact that expanding gaming and the return of live horse racing will have on the state.

Much help is needed for a video that will demonstrate this and highlight the history of horse racing in New Hampshire. The video will be distributed to members of the New Hampshire legislature, the media, various cable access channels and to those who wish to play an active roll in this cause.

This past July the Western New England Harness Horsemen’s Association and Rockingham Park agreed on a contract that will provide the association with needed funds for the preservation of open lands, expansion of gaming and the return of live horse racing in New Hampshire. A joint effort between the WNEHHA and Rockingham will be taking place once the political landscape has been defined with visits to the statehouse in Concord to seek support on future legislation geared towards expanded gaming with the return of live racing.

All interested parties should e-mail WNEHHA@aol.com with name and contact information so that one of the directors may get in touch with you.
