Date change for TheStable.ca Virtual Winter Open House

Guelph, ON — The date of TheStable.ca Virtual Winter Open House has been changed to next Friday (Dec. 18).

The decision to change the date of the event was prompted by concerns about track conditions caused by a mix of extremely mild weather and heavy rains forecast for this weekend.

TheStable.ca’s annual Winter Open House will be an entirely virtual experience this year, delivered via livestream from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST.

The Open House will showcase many of the engaging features of the award-winning fractional horse racing ownership operation, including its biweekly live streaming video broadcasts of the horses in training.

Fifty yearlings will be shown jogging in eight sets throughout the event, captured by drone camera and presented with graphics and commentary.

The event is free but an RSVP is requested. Those who RSVP will be eligible to win one of nine prizes awarded between sets.

The RSVP form includes an option to provide a donation (of any amount) for the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society. The donation unlocks eligibility to win a 10th prize — a 1 percent share of U Gotta Be Leaf and free monthly fees for one year. Among the yearling colt’s current owners in TheStable.ca are NHL and Toronto Maple Leafs alumni Doug Gilmour, Rick Vaive and Shayne Corson.

The trio will be featured on the Open House broadcast and will announce the name of the prize winner.

A program will be available on The Stable.ca website on Dec. 15, detailing all yearlings featured on the broadcast, and pricing for horses with shares still available for purchase. The program will include a schedule of when each horse will be showcased on the broadcast during the Open House.
