Diane Norris, 79, dies

Lexington, KY — Diane L. Norris, 79, together with her husband, Gordon, an active participant in harness racing in Michigan and at Pompano Park in Florida, died April 25, 2019.

Mrs. Norris and her husband were married 52 years. She owned many horses and was an integral part of the Gordon Norris Stables, which topped the training charts in Michigan and at Pompano Park for many years. Mrs. Norris enjoyed working with horses; training, grooming, and naming them, and was also known for keeping the stable running smoothly.

In 1997, Mrs. Norris and her husband were inducted together into the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association’s Hall of Fame.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband; seven children; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister; and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
