Driver Kim Vincent lights up the toteboard at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Jonathan Roberts, Eddie Davis Jr., and Kim Vincent had driving doubles while trainers Lewis Nunes and Ken Schlotzhauer won a pair on the Wednesday night (Nov. 13) card at Rosecroft Raceway.

Vincent’s victories provided a pocket full of cash for his horses’ backers as Believe In Him ($16) and Angel Speak ($20) were both the fourth choice on the board in their respective races. Believe In Him trotted from the back of the pack to win for trainer James Brown, Betsy Brown and Morgan Marston. Meanwhile Angel Speak also rallied from the backfield for owner Deborah Warnick and trainer Scott Warnick, nailing favored Final Escape in the final strides to win.

Roberts won for his dad, Bib Roberts, as Winter Games took race 12, getting past pacesetter Rissy’s All In for the win. Megan Roberts-Tolson trains the winner for her father. Roberts eased Explosive Drama to the lead entering the final turn and trotted home an easy winner for owner Joseph Plummer and trainer Jason Walters.

Davis Jr. scored wins with Ken Schlotzhauer’s Talbot Farmguy ($14.20) and Thomas Cooke’s Madiba ($5.60), also trained by Schlotzhauer.

Frank Milby and Roger Plante netted Nunes his two wins as Milby scored with Lomangino Standardbreds’ Frankie Boy ($8) and Plante guided Janet Burris’ The Illuminator ($15.80) to victory.

No one hit the Pick-5 on the card which saw John Mackinnon win with Always Persevere ($47.20) for owner-trainer Kevin Fitzgerald in the sequence, triggering a $4,235 carryover to Monday night which will have a $7,500 guaranteed pool.
